fern and her babies, waving in the sunshine... ~ September 05, 2001 - 4:58 p.m.

finally back on the road... and oh yes, I am feeling better than I was. I don't have much time to write, I'm in a coffeehouse (the ragged edge-- very cool, and they have an open mic monday and wednesday nights) in gettysburg, pa. we came here for fern's wedding, which I was in. it was beautiful, a pagan handfasting. I'll have to describe the whole ceremony when I have more time.

it was so good to see fern again. she and I went to antioch college together, and we've been through a lot with each other. this is the first time I've seen her in years, since she was pregnant with her first child, oceana. I got to meet oceana for the first time, and her little brother, kai. beautiful, radiant children.

ozone and I struggle, some. we're both learning a lot from each other. in some ways we seem to make no sense at all as a couple, in other ways it makes all the sense in the world. you know, the way things do.

I've got to go... got to decide if we're driving to vermont now, or if we'll swing by to visit my brother in new york first.

I'll talk to y'all a little further down the road...

previously... * and then...
