moon time on the mountain... ~ November 12, 2006 - 3:59 a.m.

ridiculous-- I should so not still be awake... television does this to me. this is why I don't actually own one.

I visit tv, though. tonight I'm house/dog/and cat sitting for friends up in the mountains, and it's my moon time (and a deeply hormonal one at that), and so curling up with the demon box has been feeling just about right.

that and cuddling with augustus, who is my new cat love. when I came in the house, the dogs came out to see who I was and if I was going to feed them. augustus just jumped up on the couch and waited for me to sit down. as soon as I did, he climbed into my lap and curled into a ball.

some cats just know how to steal my heart, from the very first instant.

the dogs are nice too, if a bit shy. kayu is part wolf, and I've barely seen him. mu is, coincidentally, the ex-dog of an ex-boyfriend I lost track of about six years back. she must have felt me writing about her, because she just came out to say hello.

and honestly, my brain wants to take this off into one of my rambling stories about cats and my family or maybe about liam who used to own mu and how I had a kitten named mu when we met and it was one of the many wild synchronicities between us...

...but it's late and I'm tired and dance church comes awfully early awfully soon, so I'll leave it at that. a sweet, quiet night up on the mountain... the tv finally turned off... mu heading back to sleep in the closet... and augustus, sitting in the doorway to the hall, waiting for me to come to bed.

previously... * and then...
