...the ones I love best...

watched over ~ September 22, 2001 - 9:05 p.m.

make that five tattoos.

yes, today I was inked again, my first time with someone other than pierre. her name was rachel, the studio was body ritual, in milwaukee. it seemed right that I should get this tattoo in the city where I was born.

a phrase in sanskrit, on my back, beneath the spiral-hearted rising sun I've had for years.

translation:

watched over.

that's me. it resonated to the core the minute I saw it.

down all the wild roads, through hell and high water, in love and war and all the rest. watched over.

I offer up my gratitude, again and again. the universe shows me infinite love, comes to me in the darkness when my faith wears thin. always the light is there.

I cannot live long enough to give back in equal measure the blessings I've received. all I can do is give thanks, to be of service to my fellow humans whenever possible.

to work towards enlightenment, so that I may be of benefit to all sentient beings.

to pray that all who are lost may find their way home.
