...the ones I love best...

it's all good... ~ may 11, 2001 - 1:14 p.m.

much better now, I promise.

I spent time in boulder creek yesterday, ran into several of the people I love there, people I haven't seen since before I headed out on the road. there are so many amazing people in my life.

this morning I started on the volunteer cleaning crew at kiva. kiva's a clothing optional hot tub/sauna place in santa cruz... you can soak and drink tea and wander around in the gardens and lounge in the fireplace room and sauna and dunk yourself in the cold pool, and just take it easy, take it quiet, meditate and do your thing. clare and I used to go there a lot, when we had a friend who worked there, but I haven't been back there in quite a while.

now I'll be going there one morning a week to clean for a couple of hours. I get to soak the same day I clean, and I get two passes per shift besides, which I can use myself or with friends. I'm looking forward to having access to kiva again. I think it'll be a good thing in my life. I may add a second day a week, we'll see how it goes.

I had lunch at the soup kitchen, although I just had bread and salad because there was chicken in the soup today. it's the first time I've been there by myself, and it made me flash hard on the time I spent with ever when I first got back to town, when we were just falling in love and so deeply infatuated with each other. that was such a dreamy time.

he gets to stay, by the way. he did a whole lot of work to open up the lines of communication between himself and his managers and the administrators up at mt. madonna, and they were impressed. he's taking responsibility for himself in a big way, learning and growing a lot. sometimes I look a how much he's doing and feel like I'm going nowhere. it's not true, I know. I'm just... wishing for more in the way of progress and growth for myself. it seems to be all I can do right now just to keep myself meditating and being aware of what's going on inside of me. but then, some times are just like that.

okay, I'm gonna head back to kiva and soak for the rest of the afternoon... oh, yes...

previously... * and then...
