all roads lead to thailand... ~ june 19, 2001 - 6:26 p.m.

been having a little trouble getting to a computer lately... no access from my tent on the bank of hare creek. life is sleepy and full of sunshine. I've got a lingering cold... it's probably lingering because I've been smoking too much pot.

well, it's the truth.

I can feel my relationship to it shifting, though, and I know it's not going to be a part of my life forever. I could have worse vices.

speaking of which, I recently passed the nine year anniversary of the day I quit drinking. can you believe that? I can't-- but at the same time I can. a little while ago, I realized that I have no real memory of what it's like to be drunk. not really. I can get it in flashes, but that's all.

I've decided against going on retreat in july. instead, I'm going to work at the high sierra music festival, and then take the money and run to vermont to see heather and andre and their new baby girl, and pennsylvania to see fern and her two babies.

babies, babies everywhere...

I'm also doing some research on thailand... since, it seems, I'm supposed to go. just about every day, someone mentions thailand to me. today it was in the newspaper.

directions are starting to come clear... and they're mostly leading to unexpected destinations...

mmm... life... I love it, I do...

previously... * and then...
