this-n-that ~ May 4, 2003 - 10:51 p.m.

on sundays, I clean house.

it was a good one, today, because I've been letting things go, the way I tend to when I'm sick. my kitchen needed a major overhaul. I'm still working on the bedroom. dusting and sweeping are more or less a constant, since I live on a dirt road.

it felt good to clear things away. I still don't have enough places to put things. I've been ogling this beautiful handmade cane shelves that people sell by the roadway, but I have *no* idea what to pay for one. one of those purchases I'll need to bring a lao friend along for.

and I'm checking out a motorbike for sale tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about it-- I have a feeling that I'll take it if the guy's willing to knock $50 off the asking price and wait until payday on friday for the full amount. we'll see. honestly, I don't really *need* a motorbike, but I've been wanting one more and more. I know I'll explore more if I have one, go on day trips and things. and, honestly, it'll just make me feel more a part of things. everyone has a motorbike.

and, well, you know me and motorcycles. of course, these are nothing like real motorcycles. the classic asian motorbike comes up below my waist and rarely has more than 110 ccs. when I tell people I used to ride a 750 back home, their eyes get really big. when I tell them I crashed my 750, they give me a knowing grin.

but anyway. feeling a little better, and looking forward to going back to school tomorrow. caught up on my lesson planning, finally. I went and got myself some more antibiotics today, since I'm still coughing, still low-energy. went to a different pharmacy and only paid 25 cents this time. prices are funny here.

that's all, I guess, really. little bit of this-n-that.
