...the ones I love best...

may your heart always be joyful, may your song be sung... ~ August 27, 2006 - 1:52 a.m.

I just came from one of those truly delicious parties. oh, it was so sweet. beautiful space, incredible food, fire family under the night sky. we drummed and danced and sang and played and the cops got called but they were nice and we didn't get in trouble. wine and weed, goddesses and gods, hugs hello and goodbye.

we love each other well, this fire family of mine. and damn we have fun when we get together. these are the people I'm going to be with when the apocalypse goes down. we're already preparing, creating the structures around which we're going to build our lives from the ashes after it all burns to the ground.

and we're doing it joyfully, and with heart. I'm learning that you can do nearly anything joyfully, and with heart, and it becomes bigger, brighter. magic happens.

shimmering wolf had pictures on his computer from phoenix fire, and we ooohed and aaaahed. we got nostalgic and told stories about fires past. we split into conversational groups that flowed and merged in that organic way of a truly good party filled with deeply intimate friends.

and I'm up too late with another crazy snack bar sampling day coming up much too soon. but I'm warm and sleepy and filled with love, listening to joan baez and drinking hot cocoa and writing in my diary.

right this moment, life is really, really good.
