last day of school ~ June 19, 2003 - 9:22 p.m.

so it's over. that piece of my life.

I mean, not OVER, over-- but the school year ended today. I still teach summer school, but I only teach two hours a day, and most of the kids will be different.

and I don't really know what happens after that.

I've kinda slacked off on the job hunting thing for the moment, due to the ringworm scab on the bridge of my nose. it just doesn't say hire me!

it's healing up just fine, though. now it's just a big pink splotch.

and now I'm on holiday. oh, blessed be. I need this so much. I've still got some grading to finish, but I've got several leisurely days in which to finish it. and-- hell yeah-- no other commitments for a week and a half.

I'm gonna sleep, and sleep, and sleep.

and tonight we had an end-of-work party, all the staff out at an all you can eat buffet at the airport. I know it doesn't sound appealing-- I get a pretty grim picture in my head when I hear the combo of "airport" and "buffet", but it's actually a really nice restaurant, and the food was great. a buffet with many items, and then several stations with chefs making specialty items. steak, sashimi, sukiyaki, tempura, papaya salad. I got the sushi guy to make me a veggie roll, although he looked at me like I was crazy by the time he figured out what I was asking for. yum, yum, yum. it's been ages since I've had veggie sushi.

we all hung out and talked and laughed and took it easy. the school footed the bill. it was really a nice night.

now I'm just taking it easy. checking e-mail, this-n-that. I'll probably hang out with noy and his friends on the corner for a while after I leave here. this is a thing that I still do, just about every night. I like noy, I like his friends, I really enjoy hanging out with them. he's still mystified that he's lost me for something as small as lying through his teeth. at this point, I think he just wants me because he can't have me. he used to girls who let him slide on his looks and charm. that's just not enough for a girl like me.

I lack the energy to take this in any of its potential directions. I'm sliding into that after-buffet fuzziness. so let's just leave it at that for now. I'll get back to you when my head is clearer.
