blissed out at rai lay beach... ~ October 17, 2002 - 11:03 p.m. so far, I am utterly in love with thailand. there was kind of a weird funk hanging over malaysia, I don't know what. but thailand... I'm sure it helps that I'm in paradise at the moment... rai lay beach, rock climber's mecca and gorgeous tropical oasis. it's a bit too crawling-with-westerners, but the ocean is lapping softly at the sand ten feet behind me, and I have just been blissed out all day. I baked on the sand and swam in the deliciously warm ocean, floated on my back and just lazed. today I let myself take a break. I did precious little, just relaxed and ate pineapple, bought from one of the vendors who walk up and down the beach with their baskets and trays. I'm staying in a little wicker bungalow which cost me about what a cup of coffee would in the states. tomorrow I'm going climbing all day long... then I think I'll treat myself to a thai massage... life is beautiful. oh yes.
