too hot to think... ~ May 8, 2003 - 8:13 p.m.

I'm trying to scale back my life a bit until I get really, truly better. I'm just so damn tired of being unhealthy. if you check out the time stamp on this entry, you'll see I'm not out as late as usual.

one of these days, I'll actually get around to buying groceries, so that I can stay in for dinner. I just need to learn how to use the cooker/steamer thing in my kitchen. and figure out how much rice and how much water goes into a rice cooker.

anyway. had another class with the neighbor kids tonight, and it was fun. they're just so adorable. cindy joined us today, joe's 5-year-old cousin, and it'll be a challenge reaching her at the same time as the other three. they are all nearly on the same level, but cindy's not there yet, and she's shy to boot. we'll see.

I was going to see a musical about bugs that a young friend named jessica is in tonight, but it just felt a bit too ambitious, and it looks like rain, so I decided that indian food at nazim and an internet check-in would do me for the night. then I'll go home and crash, try to get some real sleep.

I'm exhausted in spite of the fact that I took a three hour nap this afternoon. that's one of the most frustrating things about this whole episode. I want my energy back.

I'm reading no destination by satish kumar, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. he's a from-the-heart type of guy, and walked around the world delivering packets of peace tea to the leaders of the four nuclear powers in the 60s. gotta love it.

not much else to say at the moment. it's hot, oh yes it is. hot hot hot. makes me start to understand those people who don't like hot weather. it's painfully hot.

but I still love it.
