a place to rest ~ april 2, 2001 - 10:48 p.m.

I'm spending a few days at pat and stacie's house, resting and healing. I realized it was going to be hard to get well without a stable place to be, so I asked pat and stacie for refuge and they were happy to oblige. I love this place. they've asked me to housesit for them for a couple of weeks at the beginning of may. gee, spend two weeks playing house in your gorgeous dome house in the hills? I guess so...

pat has also hooked me up with a free laptop, which he acquired for me while I was on the road. I'm using it at the moment, sitting up in the loft of the dome. there's no modem yet, but we've got ethernet cables hooking me into their network. it's good to have geek friends. I think I can finally call myself a geek. my laptop is running LINUX.

right now I'm all about resting. my body is just worn out. I slept myself out last night for the first time in ages, slept for something like fourteen hours. I'm not going to let myself worry too much about anything else until I'm well. my ears are getting better. they still ring all the time, but at least they don't hurt. mainly I'm just tired. but I'm in a good place, with good people, and I don't have to think about where my next meal is coming from or where I'm going to sleep. I have a whole lot to be thankful for.
